Denzel Washington and David Cronenberg Circling Film

Denzel Washington and director David Cronenberg are attached to the forthcoming political thriller The Matarese Circle, which is based on Robert Ludlum's novel of the same name.

The book is set during the Cold War, following the story of an American man and a Soviet man who cooperate in order to foil a sinister plan hatched to topple the world's governments and infrastructures. MGM won a bidding war for the project and fast-tracked the film to production after acquiring the rights. A spring start date is planned. Cronenberg received critical accolades for his work on last year's Eastern Promises.
