Dominic Monaghan, Freddy Rodriguez Find Good Fortune

Dominic Monaghan and Freddy Rodriguez are joining forces for a horror thriller dubbed Fortuna.

The film is set in 2100, when the Earth's economy has collapsed and the climate crisis has wiped out the middle class, leaving a polarized society of a few who are extremely wealthy and masses struggling with abject poverty. To prevent revolt, the rich have created Fortuna, a game where one competitor out of a thousand will win money and join the ranks of the upper class. The elite ruling class has other plans to reduce poverty, plans which don't bode well for losing contestants.

Monaghan and Rodriguez will portray two men who play Fortuna, as will Barthelemy Grossmann, who wrote and will direct the privately financed film. The film's six week shoot will begin on November 10 in Bulgaria.
