Amy Adams Has a Leap Year

Flame-haired actress Amy Adams, who is currently gracing the cover of this month's issue of Vanity Fair, is wrapping negotiations to star in Leap Year, a romantic comedy for Spyglass.

Adams, who recently became engaged to longtime boyfriend, actor Darren Legallo, will take the role of a buttoned-up woman who heads to Dublin so that she can propose to her boyfriend on Leap Year Day, February 29, which occurs every four years. Her character follows a longtime Irish tradition where women propose to men on this particular day and, as a rule, the men are obliged to accept the proposal. Unfortunately, weather interferes with her trip and she has to embark on a cross-country trek in order to pull off her plan. She seeks help from a crotchety Irish innkeeper along the way.

The film will begin production in mid-February. No director has been attached at press time.
