Amy Sedaris Inks Deal with 20th Century Fox TV

Comedienne Amy Sedaris has signed a deal with 20th Century Fox TV to create, write, and star in a comedy series. Sedaris and writing partner Paul Dinello will pen the script for the series, with Dinello attached to direct. The series will be a single-camera project, with David Letterman's Worldwide Pants co-producing.

Sedaris reveals that she came up with the idea for the show several years ago and that she and Dinello are currently sorting out the details of its premise. She also admits that she wasn't interested in doing another series—having achieved success with Comedy Central's Strangers With Candy—but that she changed her mind after meeting Jonathan Davis, 20th Century Fox TV's head of comedy. Key details about the show have not been revealed at press time.

Sedaris will next been seen on the big screen in Jennifer's Body, due out early next year.
