Kevin Smith Spaces Out
New Jersey's favorite comic book loving export, director Kevin Smith, is currently developing a futuristic space comedy. The film will center on a father-son relationship and will make many references to other sci fi movies in its plot. It will be the director's first full foray into the genre, although many of his prior films have had sci fi undertones or mentions within them.Smith will produce the film with his View Askew partner Scott Mosier. The duo will work with a budget of approximately $50 million, the largest Smith has ever handled. Smith has said he is excited about the project because he is able to explore a parent-child dynamic, as opposed to the romantic relationships that are often the trademark of his films.
