Ben Stiller Considering Chicago 7
Ben Stiller is known for his comedic roles and for directing hilarious fare like Tropic Thunder and Zoolander. The actor may very well take a left turn and direct The Trial of the Chicago 7 for DreamWorks. The film explores the riots that took place at the 1968 Democratic Convention and the aftermath of the melee. The film, written by Aaron Sorkin, is considered a high priority for the new and improved DreamWorks, which recently parted ways with its parent company, Paramount. DW took over the development of this particular project. Sources says that Stiller has met with the studio to discuss the film but that things are in exploratory stages and that nothing has been confirmed. Other directors who have been in contention to direct the film include DreamWorks principal Steven Spielberg and Paul Greengrass, but nothing has come to pass. The film is one of the few that the new DreamWorks wants to fast-track into production.
