Naomi Watts Eyes Nobel Peace Prize Winner
Pregnant actress Naomi Watts isn't letting motherhood slow her down. The Aussie actress will star as the title character of Jody Williams in Universal’s My Name is Jody Williams, a drama about the unlikely Nobel Peace Prize winner who lead the global campaign against land mines. Audrey Wells is attached to direct the film from a screenplay that she wrote.Williams’ story is of much interest since she morphed from a teacher working for a temp agency into a global activist who fought to eradicate the world of dangerous land mines. Williams was of a gruff and often controversial demeanor and is perhaps best known for referring to former President Bill Clinton as a “weenie” when he didn’t sign the land mine ban. A start date has not been determined.
