Geoffrey Rush Shows His Musical Side
Distinguished Australian actor Geoffrey Rush has agreed to play a missionary priest in the forthcoming musical Brun Nue Dae. Rush’s co-stars include aboriginal actor Ernie Dingo, as well as Australian musicians Missy Higgins and Dan Sultan.Producers have described the film as a coming of age road-based comedy. The story will be based in Broome, a town in tropical Northwestern Australia, and the film will focus on themes of family, forgiveness, and reconciliation among aboriginals. Rachel Perkins is set to direct the film. She is best known for her landmark documentary series, First Australians.
