It's got nothing to do with 'Rock Band,' either
The Beatles Agree to Videogame Deal
The Beatles' Apple Corps Ltd. company has finally sealed a development deal with MTV Networks and Harmonix, the team behind the popular Rock Band franchise. Some details about the Beatles-centric videogame emerged in a conference call yesterday morning, including its tentative release date (fourth quarter 2009), concept ("an 'experiential journey' through the Beatles' career music and vision," according to Billboard.com), and soundtrack (master recordings of UK releases, as supervised by Giles Martin, the co-producer of LOVE and son of original Beatles producer George Martin). While it won't be directly tied to any Rock Band titles, the Beatles game will have a similar interface and may or may not be compatible with Rock Band's controllers.
