Ice Cube Eases Into TV Business
Ice Cube has signed on to write and executive produce an hour-long buddy cop show for NBC."As we continue to expand our roster of diverse talent both on-camera and behind the camera, a guy like Ice Cube, who’s multitalented, is someone we really wanted to be in business with," Ben Silverman, chairman of NBC Entertainment and Universal Media Studios, said in a statement. "He’s had an amazing career, to have gone from NWA to this."
Cube's involvement in the show outside of writing and producing is not confirmed yet, although it's assumed he'll make some appearances and possibly even contribute some original music to the show.
"We really want to capture his voice and his eye for talent, and his producing acumen," Silverman explained. "If he appeared in the pilot or series, we’d be really excited about that."
