Boondock Saints Sequel Underway

Production on the sequel to the cult 2000-released indie drama Boondock Saints is currently underway in Toronto.

Troy Duffy, who penned the screenplay while tending bar in Hollywood and notoriously sold the script to Harvey Weinstein for six figures, will direct the film. He directed the original and was initially given a $15 million budget, but that amount shrunk significantly when production started.

Sean Patrick Flanery and Norman Reedus will reprise their roles as fraternal Irish twins who are dallying in Boston's seedy criminal underworld. Billy Connolly will also return to the film. Producers have said that the sequel's script will satisfy die hard fans of the original.
