Changes scope of Fahrenheit 9/11 follow-up
Michael Moore Vs. The Economy
Left-leaning documentarian Michael Moore has changed the scope and subject matter of the much-anticipated follow up to his political lightning-rod documentary, Fahrenheit 9/11. The currently untitled film will shift its focus from America's foreign policies and relationships with the rest of the world to the American economy, which has taken a significant beating over the past few months. The film will be released via Paramount Vantage and Overture Films and will have an "end-of-the-empire" tone to it. Word is that some of those involved in the doc's production fear that focusing on the current economic crisis may be a tough subject to cover, since the economic market often shifts quickly and the issues could be irrelevant and/or solved by the time the film hits theaters.
That said, Moore is currently shooting the film at a quickened pace and the movie is expected to come out in the spring.
