Juanes Leads Latin Grammys Nods
Houston's Toyota Center hosted the ninth annual Latin Grammys on Thursday, dishing the most awards to Juanes, a popular singer-songwriter from Colombia."I can't believe it," Juanes said after the ceremony. "I am very, very happy, very grateful to life, to music, to God, to the Academy. For me, this has been incredible. It's a dream."
Juanes swept the five categories he was nominated in, including Album of the Year (La Vida Es Un Ratico) and Record of the Year ("Me Enamora"). Other noteworthy wins were Garcia in the Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal Album (Cualquier Dia) categories, Wisin & Yandel in Best Urban Album (Los Extraterrestres), and Café Tacuba for Best Alternative Song ("Volver a Comenzar") and Best Rock Song ("Esta Vez").
