After California bans gay marriage
Comedian Wanda Sykes Comes Out
TV and movie star Wanda Sykes, known for her blunt comedic style, has come out of the closet after the state of California's recent ban on gay marriage. The star of TV's The New Adventures of Old Christine has stated that while those who know her personally have been well aware of her sexual orientation as a lesbian for quite some time, she never felt the need to let the rest of the world know until now.Sykes, 44, married her partner on October 25, prior to the passing of Proposition 8 in California, which bans gay marriage. Sykes came out at a gay rally in Las Vegas over the weekend, saying she felt personally attacked when California residents passed the proposition.
