To direct first films in a decade

    John Landis is Back

Legendary National Lampoon's Animal House director John Landis is back in the director's chair. Landis will start helming feature films again after a decade-long absence from the medium. He is currently attached to direct Burke and Hare, a black comedy based on the true capers of a pair of 19th century graverobbers named Burke and Hare. Landis will begin shooting the film for Ealing Studios next spring in Edinburgh and London.

While Landis has been directing feature-length documentaries in recent years, he has been notably absent from features for ten years. His last feature was 1998's Blues Brothers 2000.

Landis has added several movie projects to his "to do" list. In addition to Burke and Hare, Landis is also attached to direct Ghoulishly Yours, a biopic about Mad magazine publisher William Gaines, as well as The Bone Orchard, which has been described as a Western with Chinese vampires.
