Ridley Scott Starts a Monopoly

Ridley Scott is officially attached to direct the feature film Monopoly, which will be based on the wildly popular real estate board game from Hasbro.

Scott had previously been attached to produce the film, and there was only a small possibility that he would direct, too. The film marks an interesting collaboration between Hasbro Toys and Universal studios and it's being said that Scott wants to give the film a futuristic style and look, much like his genre-defining cult classic Blade Runner.

Pamela Pettler, a writer on The Corpse Bride, has been hired to write the screenplay for Monopoly, which will follow a narrative structure.
