Michael Jackson Reaches Out-of-Court Settlement
Michael Jackson and a Bahraini sheik have reached an out-of-court settlement to a breach of contract suit that originally asked for $7 million. Jackson would have appeared in London's High Court today to answer claims that he pulled out of a contract with 2 Seas Records, a Bahraini record company funded by Sheik Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa. The 33-year-old says he gave Jackson millions in hopes of garnering new material and collaborations from the pop star. When he left the country in 2006 after a brief retreat there, Jackson's lawyers claimed Al Khalifa's money was a gift.—The ARTISTdirect Staff
