In rough 'n tumble comedy
Matthew McConaughey to Grackle
New father Matthew McConaughey will be directed by David O. Russell in the rowdy and raucous upcoming comedy The Grackle. McConaughey and associates will also produce the film via the actor's J.K. Livin' banner. New Line will distribute the film.In the film, McConaughey will take a bit of an artistic left turn by playing a barroom fighter in New Orleans who sells his services as a "dispute settler" to people who can't afford to hire attornies and who prefer to hash out their differences in the street rather than in the courtroom. The character will be rough and tumble, preferring to use unpleasant language and his fists to solve problems. The project is gunning for an R-rating and the character steps away from the romantic comedy leading roles that McConaughey has built his career on.
