Paula Abdul Blames 'American Idol' Producers

Paula Abdul has issued a detailed statement in regards to the suicide of American Idol contestant Paula Goodspeed. The longtime judge claims she told the show's producers to not let Goodspeed audition, due to her history of writing Abdul "disturbing letters" for around 18 years. Many of which led to restraining orders.
"I said, 'This girl is a stalker of mine,'" explained Abdul. "'Please do not let her in.'" They did, however—in both Season 5 and 6, the latter of which led to Goodspeed following Abdul home and letters that threatened "bodily harm."
As for why she's still with American Idol after all this, Abdul said, "Well, I'm under contract."
