Reese Witherspoon Teams up with James L. Brooks

Reese Witherspoon is teaming up with director James L. Brooks, whose most recent work was producing The Simpsons Movie. Witherspoon and Brooks will work together in an as-yet-untitled comedy for Columbia Pictures.

Brooks, known for his character-driven movies, has only directed five films throughout his career, the last being 2004's ill-received Spanglish. Brooks also directed 1997's acclaimed As Good As It Gets. He is writing the screenplay for the film, which will be an ensemble piece that will feature three major characters. The film's working title is How Do You Know?.

Columbia plans to begin production on the film in March.
