Jerry Bruckheimer, Michael Bay Tango with Cocaine Cowboys
Hotshot producers Jerry Bruckheimer and Michael Bay are partnering up for Cocaine Cowboys, an HBO drama that will look at the early years of drug trafficking in Miami, Florida. The series will be based on Billy Corben's documentary, Cocaine Cowboys, which was released in 2006. There is a feature film on the same subject also in the works. Mark Wahlberg is attached to star in that film, which will not be based on the doc.The series will mark the first time Bruckheimer, known for his big budget action films as well as TV programs like CBS' Cold Case, will work with a pay cable network. Bruckheimer's first basic cable pilot was The Line, which he produced for TNT. Bruckheimer, Bay, known for his big screen smashes like Transformers, and their fellow producers will work with the team behind the documentary.
