Twilight heartthrob Rob Pattinson has not only cut his hair, but he's also dropped out of the Rosario Dawson-produced Parts Per Billion, the indie flick he was set to star in alongside Dawson.

Pattinson was scheduled to start shooting the film in Los Angeles this month, but has dropped out in order to prep for his second go-round as vampire Edward Cullen in the Twilight sequel, New Moon. Apparently, the production schedule for the sequel will occupy too much of the actor's time, and he can no longer dedicate himself to the indie flick. A replacement has yet to be named. Olivia Thirlby of Juno fame will also star in Parts Per Billion.

In other Twilight news, Taylor Lautner will reprise his role as Jacob Black in the sequel. There were rumors that a bigger, more menacing actor would play the role of Black, who morphs into something a bit more monstrous in the next installment. However, Summit Entertainment and new director Chris Weitz have confirmed that the baby-faced Lautner is indeed returning to the part. To date, the first film has grossed $177 million domestically. New Moon will hit theaters November 20.
