Universal Pictures Hosting Open Casting Call

Universal Pictures is currently searching for a star, via an open casting call, to play the character of Edward, a high school senior in an upcoming comedy starring Hollywood heavyweights Meryl Streep, Alec Baldwin, and Steve Martin.

The casting call is open to the public, so if you've never acted in your life and have no previous experience, you can still try out for the role. All the studio is asking for is someone with the desire to act and for prospective parties to have open availability between February and mid-June. The casting department for the film is looking for a Michael Cera-type to play an awkward and precocious 17-year-old. The film is set to shoot in both New York City and Los Angeles in early 2009.

The open casting call will occur at Ripley Grier Studios on Saturday, January 10th. The address is: 520 8th Avenue, 16th Floor, Studio 17B, located between 36th and 37th streets in New York City. The sign-in starts at 10:00 AM and goes to 1:00 PM. Interested parties who cannot attend the casting call are encouraged to audition online.
