Ryan O'Neal Pleads Guilty To Drug Charge
Actor Ryan O'Neal has plead guilty to a felony drug charge. The 67-year-old actor was ordered into an 18-month drug diversion program after entering a guilty plea on Friday in a Malibu courtroom. The case against the actor will be dismissed once he successfully completes the program. He was arrested in September of last year with his 23-year-old son Redmond, whose mother is longtime former O'Neal love Farrah Fawcett. The elder O'Neal was charged with felony methamphetamine possession when police were searching his home while performing a routine check on his son, who was on probation for a prior drug conviction.
In other celebrity legal news, actor Samy Naceri, who starred in the 2006 World War II drama Days of Glory, was arrested and jailed in Paris over the weekend. Naceri, 47, was charged with stabbing the companion of his ex-girlfriend after a street confrontation. He was charged with armed voluntary violence and for making death threats. These charges will be dropped if an investigation fails to turn up clear evidence. The victim's injuries aren't life threatening, according to officials who asked not to be named.
The troubled actor was recently released from prison due to a liver illness. He has had more than a few run-ins with the law in recent years, with his most recent incarceration stemming from an incident during which he struck a police officer with his car and driving without a license.
