Lynyrd Skynyrd Keyboardist Dies
Billy Powell, one of two surviving Lynyrd Skynyrd members from the band's pre-1977 lineup, died in his Florida home early Wednesday morning. The 56 year old called 911 at around 12:55 a.m. to report having trouble breathing, but CPR efforts were unable to resuscitate him from a suspected heart attack. A rescue crew pronounced Powell dead at 1:52 a.m.According to the Associated Press, an autopsy will not be performed.
