M.I.A. Gives Birth to First Child

A MySpace posting over the weekend confirmed the birth of M.I.A.'s baby boy last Wednesday in Los Angeles. "Sunday [night] I came home from the [Grammys] still in the mood to party," M.I.A. wrote. "I coulda easily gone out but I went home instead. [I'm] lucky I did! Coz my early stage labor kicked in around 2 a.m. ...Me and baby are putting our tour dates for 2010 together, and making mixtapes, and figuring out a way to break out of the hospital!"

As far as we can tell, M.I.A. and her son did not escape from the hospital with the help of his father, musician Benjamin Brewer. Everyone is "beautiful and doing well" according to an Interscope rep, however.
