Chris Brown Facing Felony Charges

While he currently remains free on $50,000 bail, Chris Brown has now been charged with two felonies—making criminal threats and assault likely to cause great bodily injury. According to an Associated Press report and a detective’s affidavit, Brown and his girlfriend Rihanna (real name: Robyn Rihanna Fenty) got into an argument early in the morning on February 8 after the latter discovered a text message from another woman on Brown’s cell phone. LAPD detective De Shon Andrews wrote, “Brown pulled his car over and tried to push Rihanna out, but she was still wearing her seatbelt.” He then allegedly pushed Rihanna’s head against a window, punched her with his right hand, and continued to hit her as he drove.

To make matters even more complicated, Brown allegedly threatened to kill Rihanna when she pretended to call her assistant and ask for the police to await the couple at her house. Andrews’ description of Rihanna’s injuries is rough to say the least. Aside from having a mouth full of blood, she almost lost consciousness as Brown attempted to choke her. Rihanna’s spokesperson hasn’t commented on Brown’s charges. However, he issued a statement recently, saying he’s “sorry and saddened” about everything that’s occurred.
