Elvis Costello, T Bone Burnett Pair Up For New CD

Elvis Costello has confirmed the details behind his latest disc, Secret, Profane & Sugarcane. Due out June 2 through Hear Music, it features the production of T Bone Burnett and the fruits of a three-day (!) session at Nashville's Sound Emporium Studio. Costello and Burnett have worked together twice before—on 1986's King of America and 1989's Spike LP. This time around, Burnett contributed electric guitar parts to several songs, with Emmylou Harris stepping in on one song and Loretta Lynn helping out with the writing of "I Felt the Chill." Costello originally wrote two other tracks, "Hidden Same" and "Boom Chicka Boom," for Johnny Cash.

A tour featuring "The Sugarcanes" (a group of session players from the new record) is expected to hit North America in June and August.
