Chris Cornell's wail is one of the most unmistakable in rock n' roll history. It solidified both Soundgarden and Audioslave in the collective music consciousness forever. However, his latest solo record, Scream, puts that screech over some spacey Timbaland production, making for a head-spinning alternative concoction. Given his penchant for pushing boundaries, it's no surprise that Cornell's musical palette is super diverse.

He explains, "Right now, I always open iTunes and go into the 'World' section. From there, I venture into Indian and Southeast Asian music, mainly because I can [Laughs]. This is a time that I’ve really been able to get into weird world music without having to blindly buy something, take it home and find out that it's awful [Laughs]."

Chris shared his playlist with us, and it might be a bit surprising for you rockers out there. Check it out below!

    Chris Cornell's Playlist:

    1. CocoRosie

"I'm really blown away an American act called CocoRosie. I've been listening to them a lot. It’s comprised of two sisters and a couple other people. They're super-talented and multi-instrumental. Their records are a really interesting combination of influences. They're doing something that I've sort always wanted to do, which is write and record songs basically where anything can be the instrument. They literally use children's toys sometimes! CocoRosie are super creative."
