Björk, Dirty Projectors Announce One-Off Show
Mon, 30 Mar 2009 08:43:53
Brandon Stosuy, a key contributor to Pitchfork and Stereogum, has managed to bring the Dirty Projectors and Björk together for a special performance at New York's Housing Works on May 8. Kurt Weisman and Ólöf Arnalds will open. While the ticket price is steep ($100-$400), it benefits homeless men, women and children living with HIV and AIDS and makes you one of just 300 people who will see the one-off show.
"In a brand new collaboration, Björk will perform music composed for her by [the Dirty Projectors frontman] David Longstreth," Stosuy explained on Stereogum's site. "The suite, written for five voices, will pair Björk with Longstreth and Projectors' Amber Coffman, Angel Deradoorian, and Haley Dekle. The band will also perform material from Dirty Projectors' oeuvre, using only voices and one acoustic guitar."
For more info, head over to Housing Works' official site here. Tickets are on sale now.
