"I don't think I'm like the majority of the parts I play," says Ray Liotta. "It's fun to play these dark characters because they're different than who I am. When you're doing a dark and edgy movie, it typically stays dark and edgy. However, Observe and Report goes to absurd, and there are a lot of really funny things too."

Observe and Report has no shortage of humor. It's one of the most sidesplittingly funny dark comedies to come down the pipeline in years. That instantly appealed to the legendary actor. Liotta continues, "I thought it would be fun to be in this kind of movie. There's obviously a lot of humor, but it's also dark, and I found that to be an interesting combination. I'd seen Seth's stuff, and I liked his performances. Observe is aimed at a different audience than I'm used to. I really like [director] Jody Hill; I loved The Foot Fist Way, the first movie that he did. That's all why the film resonated with me."

About drawing upon music for films, Liotta's got an interesting take. "It depends on the part that doing. I'm not an iPod guy. I don't listen to it a lot. I'm usually always channel changing and switching different genres of music, but sometimes that helps."

Liotta's turn in Observe and Report is equally chilling and hilarious. In fact, the veteran screen presence remains as fiery as ever. However, his humor extends off screen too.

This particular writer had a life-changing experience when seeing Goodfellas with his dad at six-years-old. Upon hearing that, Ray asked me, "Is your dad in jail?"

Way to Observe and Report, Ray!
