Conor Oberst Doc on the Way

An online-only documentary about Conor Oberst, One of My Kind, has been set for an April 15 release through the following Web sites: Causecast, IFC, Merge Records, Wichita Recordings and, of course, www.conoroberst.com. The Phil Schaffart (a.k.a. Oberst's guitar tech) film will be available as a free download or stream, with fans urged to donate money to one of the nonprofits listed here.
In related news, Oberst's second album with the Mystic Valley Band, Outer South, is due out May 5 through Merge. The group's North American tour will also hit the following cities starting later this week:
