    Warner Bros. has set June 23 as the release date of Octahedron, the Mars Volta's fifth proper full-length. The eight-track album features leadoff single "Since We've Been Wrong" and yet another round of riffs from Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante.

    In semi-related news, the Mars Volta's main guitarist, Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, will unveil his other band, El Grupo Nuevo de Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, on May 5. It features the vocals of Mars Volta frontman Cedric Bixler-Zavala and the dexterous drum work of Hella's Zach Hill.
