Christina Ricci will headline Born to Be a Star, a porn-themed comedy that was co-written by Adam Sandler. Despite Sandler's involvement, the film will not be produced by his Happy Madison company. Tom Brady will direct the film, which follows a small-town nerd who accidentally uncovers a long-buried family secret: that his demure parents were actually famous porn stars back in the 1970s. He leaves his Iowa home for Hollywood in hopes of following their lead and becoming the biggest porn star of all time.

Ricci will play the would-be porn star's innocent girlfriend. It is the film's lead female role. Sony will release the film through one of its imprints. Shooting starts at the end of the month.
