‘American Idol’ Judges Flex Veto Power
Thu, 16 Apr 2009 16:08:42
American Idol’s four judges rescued Matt Giraud from the bottom of last night’s viewer poll after his ill-fated rendition of Bryan Adams’ “Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman?” While Simon Cowell was quick to pass on the “good news,” he added, “I don’t really see that you have really any chance of winning.” The veto decision means the judges can’t save another contestant from the chopping block for the rest of the season. Giraud staying on also means that two singers will be sent home next week.
Wednesday night’s broadcast also featured appearances by Jennifer Hudson—who performed the Grammy-winning “If This Isn’t Love—and Miley Cyrus.
