Swine Flu Causes Concert Cancellations In Mexico
A government-imposed ban on public events has caused the widespread cancellation of concerts throughout Mexico City. Among the affected acts so far are Alejandro Fernandez, Los Lobos and Alejandra Guzman."We will be working normally once the health authorities confirm that this [swine flu] warning has been released," Francisco Serrano Carreto, the director of a local venue called Lunario, said in a statement.
At the moment, shows aren't expected to resume until after May 6, which is the day Mexican schools will reopen from a related swine flu decision. If cancellations continue, they may include sold-out shows from Metallica and the Jonas Brothers in the coming weeks.
