    Screen Gems has snagged Christina Aguilera as the lead of its big screen musical, Burlesque. According to variety.com, “Aguilera will play an ambitious smalltown girl with a big voice who finds love, family and success in a Los Angeles neo-burlesque club that appears to be right out of Bob Fosse's Cabaret.”

    Director Steven Antin also wrote the film, which he hopes to start shooting later this year.
