Danger Mouse, Sparklehorse Project Unveils Details
Dark Night of the Soul, the top-secret collaboration between Danger Mouse and Sparklehorse, finally has a tracklisting and loose release date (sometime in June). The former reveals 13 songs written and performed by the duo, with guest vocals coming from such artists as Iggy Pop, The Flaming Lips, James Mercer (The Shins) and Julian Casablancas (The Strokes). To take things one step further, the album will be limited to 5,000 copies and feature a book of photos by Mr. Blue Velvet himself, both of which will be on display in Los Angeles' Michael Kohn Gallery on May 30.According to an exclusive NME.com report, no official digital or CD version of the record is expected at this point.
