Old 97's Confirm Summer Tour
This summer's gonna be a busy one for the Old 97's, who just announced a slew of full band shows and a handful of solo gigs featuring frontman Rhett Miller. While Miller's scheduled to play Hunter Mountain, NY, on May 30 and L.A.'s Grammy Museum on June 10, the Old 97's will start their trek on June 18 in Rochester and wind it all down on July 26 in Atlanta. The last Old 97's album, Blame It On Gravity, was released in 2008. Miller's new self-titled record hits stores on June 9."You can tell what the band doesn't like by listening to my solo records," Miller said in a statement about his solo album. "Generally, the consensus is that the band likes things that swing, things with a train beat that are rootsy and Texan. The things they don't get as much collectively are the songs that are poppier, as well as the stuff that's quiet and personal."
