Dr. Dre Leaks ‘Detox’ Beats in Dr. Pepper Ad
The last phase of Dr. Pepper’s Trust Me, I’m a Doctor campaign has snagged some exclusive music from Dr. Dre’s long-delayed Detox album. While the record itself isn’t expected until late 2009, a commercial featuring some of its beats will start airing next Monday."Scientific tests prove when you drink Dr. Pepper slow, the 23 flavors taste even better,” Dre says in the TV spot. “For me, slow always produces a hit.” The producer then steps behind a DJ booth and and slows down a techno track, saying, “Slower is better—trust me, I'm a doctor.”
The last Dr. Dre record was 1999’s 2001, which sold 7.2 million copies in the U.S. according to Nielsen SoundScan numbers.
