For their third album Mercedes Five and Dime Moist walks a fine line between post-grunge and '90s Brit-pop. At times it is difficult to tell them apart from bands like Third Eye Blind or the Verve depending on which style David Usher is singing in. The group does a good job of mixing psychedelic effects, as is the case with "Breathe." While giving the album an edgy Beatlesque feel, the samples aren't used to overshadow the guitar so they end up coming across rather well. While some of the songs are rather forgettable, the radio-oriented tunes like "Underground," "Breath," and "Dog" have a certain charm. ~ Curtis Zimmermann, All Music Guide
