This Dutch experimental sound artist has produced many installations of self-built string instruments that relate to the phenomenon of long strings suspended in architecture. Another avant-garde artist working in a similar fashion, Ellen Fullman, has explored this method to great effect, and Paul Panhuysen's work will appeal to listeners of such composers as Tony Conrad, Phill Niblock, and Pauline Oliveros. This collection is a beautifully recorded and produced document of a fascinating experiment in sound art, and well deserves the time and attention of those interested in minimalist, experimental, and avant-garde music. ~ Martin Walters, Rovi
