    All Music Guide Review

Saxophonist George Braith's twin-bodied custom-made Braith horn produces a curious gritty blend of alto and tenor sax. During this live set at the University of the Street, Braith plays it on six of the nine numbers, including an attractive bop original, "Leslie," and a driving version of "Invitation." Braith also blows a mean tenor, especially on a bluesy take of "Cherokee" and his majestic ballad, "Alpines." Pianist Ronnie Matthews leads the potent rhythm section with either Mark Johnson or Jimmy Lovelace on drums and Tarik Shah on bass. This recording is more than a novelty, so it's worth the extra effort to track down this likely hard-to-find import. ~ Ken Dryden, All Music Guide
