Submit Your ReviewWhile the majority of music that came out of Sam Phillips' Sun studio wouldn't be as historic as the well-known rockabilly classics, even the mediocre sides recorded at that Memphis studio are worth hearing. The multitude of straight country music that was recorded didn't receive much attention, the exceptions being Johnny Cash, Charlie Rich, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins. This compilation from the English SAAR label collects 25 country cuts including the aforementioned hit makers mixed with the less familiar, but equally engaging Slim Rhodes, Jack Earls, Red Williams, Cliff Gleaves, and Mack Self. ~ Al Campbell, All Music Guide
