Best remembered for their mid-70s hit "I Wanna Dance Wit Choo," Disco Tex & the Sex-O-Lettes represent the very embodiment of the disco era on Get Dancin'; artificial, tacky and campy as all get out, the record is a non-stop party recorded "live" in front of 20,000 people (or the pre-recorded screams thereof). Though there are much better disco records, somehow this one crystallizes the movement simply because it is so plastic, so much about image over substance, and so over the top in every way imaginable -- not to mention it's pure fun, something no other pop music has been since. ~ Jason Ankeny, All Music Guide
