All Music Guide Review

Holmes' debut betrayed the heavy influence of Brian Wilson and (to a lesser degree) Nilsson, but his self-professed cinematic brand of songwriting was far closer to adult contemporary and MOR Tin Pan Alley than either of those greats dared to tread. Barbra Streisand helped launch Holmes' career by covering two of the songs, "Widescreen" and "Letters in the Mail." The CD reissue adds two bonus tracks from his self-titled 1975 LP. ~ Richie Unterberger, All Music Guide
