    All Music Guide Review

VH1's The Best of Where Are They Now? gathers 16 of the best singles from the missing-in-action artists profiled on the channel's long-running show. The Waitresses' "I Know What Boys Like," the Divinyls' "I Touch Myself," Mr. Mister's "Kyrie," and Big Country's "In a Big Country" are some of the best examples of the true one-hit wonders featured on this collection, while Squeeze's "Pulling Mussels (From the Shell)" and Bananarama's "Cruel Summer" merely present these group's biggest hits. Strangest of all, though, is the inclusion of the Cars' #41 hit "Good Times Roll" -- the group went on to score bigger and better chart successes before fading away in the late '80s; tracks from Bow Wow Wow, the Motels, the Dream Academy, the Hooters, and Adam Ant are more in keeping with the album's one-hit wonder theme. At any rate, The Best of Where Are They Now? is a better-than-average collection of '70s and '80s pop and new wave hits that have endured longer than their creators' careers. ~ Heather Phares, All Music Guide
