If you don't strike gold and score a copy of the 11-disc House of Hits box set, which went out of print almost immediately after its 1990 release, there's still a slight chance that you'll be able to scoop up the volumes individually. Altogether, House of Hits is a phenomenal series, tracing the history of house music through its first several years. Each volume on its own is nothing to sniff at, so they ought to be snapped up immediately whenever they're seen. With the likes of Reese's "Just Another Chance" (from Kevin Saunderson), the sixth volume loosens the series' grip on Chicago just a little. Other featured tracks include Sterling Void's "Runaway," Arnold Jarvis' "Take Some Time Out," and Subject's "The Magic, the Moment." ~ Andy Kellman, All Music Guide
