The original soundtrack to Girlfight, Karyn Kusama's Sundance favorite about a teenage Latina who wants to box, features a diverse mix of hip-hop and Latin music as well as excerpts from Theodore Shapiro's score. Cole and Queen Latifah's "I Can Do Too" keep the girl power flowing, while Santana's "Olympic Festival," Franky X. Perez' "Forever 17," and Ness' "Ghetto Mambo" pay tribute to the characters' Latin roots. Tracks by Dilated Peoples, Tracie Spencer, and Cuban Link complete this evocative soundtrack, which like the film, is equal amounts guts and glory. ~ Heather Phares, All Music Guide
