EMI-Capitol Music Special Markets' Pulsating Grooves, Vol. 3 collects ten extended mixes of '80s hits (save for Right Said Fred's "I'm Too Sexy," which was on the charts in 1991). This means that the songs are familiar, but these versions are not, since they were not widely heard outside of clubs or stereos of hardcore fans. That makes it an interesting, even valuable, collection and one that's certainly more distinctive than most collections of '80s dance, which tend to be a little predictable. This is not predictable, just by its nature. Thanks to good cuts from EU ("Da Butt"), Re-Flex ("The Politics of Dancing"), Duran Duran ("I Don't Want Your Love"), Was (Not Was) ("Walk the Dinosaur"), and Sheena Easton ("Strut"), Pulsating Grooves, Vol. 3 is also an entertaining spin. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide
